East African Community PS David Nalo passed away on Thursday morning at Nairobi Hospital after battle with cancer.
The PS passed away at the hospital where he was admitted for more than a week.
Nalo had gone public that he had cancer in article published in the local dailies.
In the article the PS said he learnt of the disease in February 2012.
He stated that result of the tests he underwent revealed that he had “Hodgkin Limforma” an early stage of cancer.
He was hospitalized for a month at the Nairobi Hospital where he underwent chemotherapy and was later discharged.
In the article, Nalo called for cancer facilities to enable early diagnosis and challenged our Parliament, the Treasury and Revenue Allocation Committee to view the issue as a priority.
