A senior police officer in-charge of security at the Milimani Law Courts in Nairobi was found dead in his car on Tuesday night after being carjacked.

Inspector Isaac Adamba was found in his car on the roadside near Ongata Rongai and had a gunshot wound in the head.

Police and the victim’s family said he left home at the GBS residence along Mbagathi Way on Tuesday at about 7pm and drove to the nearby Tuskys supermarket to buy milk.

He took long to return prompting his wife to call him.

Adamba informed her he had been carjacked by gunmen and he was in the boot.

Nairobi Area deputy police boss Moses Ombati said the gang drove with the officer towards Ongata Rongai and later abandoned the car on the roadside after killing him.

The wife called the police who pursued the gang and later found the officer’s car by the roadside.

On arrival at the scene, police established the gang used Adamba’s gun to kill him. His police communication gadget and other valuables were found on the rear seat.

Ombati said they suspect the gang’s mission was to kill the officer and a major hunt of the killers has been launched.

Elsewhere in Dandora estate, a middle aged was shot dead in a robbery incident.

The victim was in the company of his girlfriend when they were confronted by three suspected thugs on Tuesday night.

The gang demanded money from him but the victim apparently resisted which prompted the gang to open fire on him. Police say the gang later robbed the woman of Sh3,000 and other valuables before escaping on foot. No arrest has been made so far.
