Former aide’s brother seeks protection

Miguna Miguna’s extended family in his rural home in Magina, Nyando District, has asked for security, claiming some youths were planning to attack them.

This came as protesters in Miguna’s hometown, Ahero, Kisumu County, on Tuesday morning took to the streets, burning his effigy.

“I don’ know what is wrong with people. I am not Miguna Miguna. I don’t even want to be a politician and I am not one. Why do they have to threaten me? I am a humble Kenyan and I have to be loyal to the Government,” his brother, Erick Ondiek Miguna told The Standard.

He said area District Commissioner and the OCPD had promised to send him security officers.

“I have a family and I have to protect them. What do you think will happen if they come and find my sons here? If they want Miguna they should go to his home in Nairobi,” Ondiek added.

Meanwhile, in Ahero town, protesters, led by Nyando MP Fred Outa demonstrated along the Kisumu-Nairobi road, causing a traffic snarl-up for over three hours.
