Turbaned lover leaves village gasping with shock

Residents of Gathara village, Engineer location in Kinangop are in shock after a 23-year-old man was caught red-handed in a compromising situation with a neighbour’s wife twice his age.

The Akorino faith left behind his clothes, including a turban, when the man of the house caught them in the act.

Neighbours had a hard time ‘grabbing’ the stark-naked-fleeing youth as he was slippery due to sweat and apparently too strong for them.

But when they arrested him — though briefly — the 50-something-year-old woman at the centre of the dispute emerged from the house nude and demanded that her lover be released because her husband was too ‘weak’.

Drama started weeks ago when she convinced her husband that they shift from their rural home to the neighbouring market centre because of differences with her in-laws.

According to a witness who declined to be named, the coupled rented a two-roomed wooden house at the sleepy Gathara trading centre.

But days later, the woman invited her boyfriend over after lying to her husband that her sister would be visiting.

“Since the house was too small, she requested her husband to go back to his rural home for the night and return the following morning,” said the witness.

The man left, although he had lingering doubts about the arrangement. Confident that the ‘obstacle’ had been removed, she invited her lover for the night unaware that her husband had something up his sleeve.

Speaking during the drama, the man revealed that he had camped at a nearby hotel until 10pm when he decided to make a surprise visit.

“A few meters from the house, I heard grunts, muffled screams and when I peeped through a crack on the wall, I could not believe my eyes,” he said.

Unable to bare this, he called two neighbours who helped him confront the two lovers.

Unfortunately, they only managed to grab his long turban as he slipped out of their arms.

But he was eventually ‘arrested’ and set upon with kicks and blows for embarrassing his faith and fooling around with someone old enough to be his mother.

Their instant ‘justice’ was, however, cut short by his lover who dared anyone who had been wronged to continue beating the man.

“What do you expect me do if my husband is not man enough to meet his marital obligations?” she posed. The crowd retreated, giving the young man chance slip into the darkness as the crowd, now embarrassed, by the nudity of the middle-aged woman left one after the other.

“When she openly accused her husband of failing to satisfy her, we were all embarrassed,” said the witness.

The man later collected all the suspect’s items that included his clothes, mobile phone and the turban and handed them to the area chief as evidence.

The case is still pending as the suspect has failed to go collect his personal items and answer to charges of reaping where he never sowed.
