Water Minister Charity Ngilu received a blow when her political ally and strategist former cabinet minister Francis Nyenze defected to Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka’s Wiper Democratic Movement ( WDM).

Nyenze, who had invited the VP to his Karen home in Nairobi where over 300 businessmen and leaders from Kitui County vowed to support Kalonzo, promised to campaign for WDM to ensure the party takes all the seats in the region in the coming elections.

The former cabinet minister said he had left Kalonzo’s party after losing in nominations in 2007, which he said had not been the VP’s mistake but some people on the ground.

He confessed that he has been the one creating trouble behind the scenes for Kalonzo.

The VP however assured Nyenze’s political competitors in Kitui West that by visiting the former cabinet minister’s home does not mean that he (Nyenze) will get direct nominations.
