A cook collapsed outside a guesthouse in Gucha South after catching his wife in the act with a student at the secondary school where he works.

Residents of Ekona market were treated to drama when the man, a father of three armed with a machete and rungu and clad in an apron walked, hastily towards the guesthouse.

Being a Christian who tied the knot in a colourful church wedding, the cook decided not to cause a stir at the guesthouse. He just furiously tapped at his mobile handset as he waited patiently for the wife to emerge from the room.

Sensing danger, curious workers at the guesthouse called APs from a nearby police post to avoid a blood bath.

Together  with South Mugirango Borabu chief David Kenyanya, the APs forced the door to the room open, catching the woman and the student pants down.

A crowd quickly gathered at the guesthouse as the woman and her lover hastily dressed up.

“Tell me this is not true! Nabo nakwa natiga abana bane eroro? (so I am going to die leaving my children in a desert?),” shouted the wailing man before he collapsed in a heap.

Kicks

The mob surged forward, shouting obscenities at the woman as others administered first aid to the collapsed cook.

The policemen had a rough time shielding the woman and the boy from kicks and blows.
